Dylan Field & Evan Wallace

Redefining the Future of Collaborative Design with Figma

Dylan Field and Evan Wallace are the co-founders of Figma, one of the most influential tools in the world of design and digital productivity over the past decade. Together, they have led a true revolution in how teams design, prototype, and collaborate visually—pushing the boundaries of traditional software.

The vision began in 2012, when both, alumni of Brown University, identified a critical need: to create an accessible, cloud-based, real-time collaborative design platform. While Wallace contributed deep technical expertise as a computer graphics engineer, Field brought a strategic mindset and an obsession with democratizing design.

Before Figma, design software was expensive, bulky, and required local installations. With its browser-based approach, Figma enabled designers, developers, product managers, and clients to work simultaneously on the same file for the first time—breaking down silos and accelerating creative workflows.

Figma's impact has been transformative not only for interface design but also for the productivity of multidisciplinary teams in tech companies, creative agencies, startups, and large corporations. In 2022, their success reached a new peak when Adobe announced its $20 billion acquisition of Figma, recognizing it as the new backbone of digital design.

Beyond software, Dylan and Evan have championed an open, inclusive, and user-centered culture. Their legacy is not just a tool, but a new way to work visually, agilely, and without borders.
